A fate as unavoidable as love itself...

After spending the last four years trapped in a place of monsters, demons, and magick, the last thing the fierce teenage bounty hunter Greta expected was to ever be back on Earth. But a rare opportunity gives her and the Goblin King Isaac the opportunity to do just that. Now she’s home. With a boy in tow. And her parents have lots of questions.

Although Greta finally has her heart’s deepest wish—to see her family again—every step she takes to reconnect with them drives her further away from Isaac. Greta and Isaac planned for her to return to Mylena and become his queen, but she’s not sure if she can go back to that harsh world, though staying on Earth means giving up the boy she loves.

But a powerful enemy refuses to let Greta escape. A demon who will stop at nothing to destroy her and everything she loves. Even if it means following her to Earth and forcing her to face a fate as unavoidable as love itself.

Greta and the Lost Army Mylena Chronicles Book 3 eBook Chloe Jacobs

Where to start? Okay firstly this book deserves 5 stars and more... Because it was way better than the Glass kingdom book 2.
It was well written. Greta, Isaac, the lost boys and Siona are transported to Earth.. And on Earth Siona and Isaac have no magic. So they basically human. The lost boys and Greta are reunited with their families. Greta, Isaac and Siona go to high school. Which I thought was so fun and cool.
They figure out how to find a portal back to mylena and the war for mylena begins..
There was a lot of fun sweet moments of friendship, family and romance. A lot of action.
Also the part where Greta can bring back the lost.. The best.
Well the ending is the best.. I liked it and I was happy. As long as Greta and Isaac end up together.

Greta and the Lost Army Mylena Chronicles Book 3 eBook Chloe Jacobs Reviews

“Greta and the Lost Army” by Chloe Jacobs was the best one yet! This was a great conclusion to the series. Greta as always is a fantastic heroine. She has had an amazing story since the beginning of the book. Greta goes to every length she can no matter how extreme the circumstances for those that she loves. Greta doesn’t give up and I love that about her. This whole series and been about Greta growing and becoming stronger.

Jacobs is an amazing world builder. I think she has done a great job with these novels and the world building. Mylena comes to life for the reader. Jacobs makes this world so easy for the reader to visualize. She does a great job of creating two worlds that fit together.

The first part of this story is about Greta trying to adapt to the human world again. She has lived away from the human world for four years and now she has to go back to human life. She gives her parents a half-truth story that way they won’t check her into a psychology center. Greta struggles on whether she wants to go back to Mylena or if she wants to stay in her human world.

These characters are great. I already mentioned how much I adore Greta. Isaac has become this guy that we all love. I think Jacobs did a great job with Isaac. She has created a wonderful book boyfriend. This is my favorite line

Isaac stopped her at the bottom of the stairs with a crooked smile. "I would wish you sweet dreams, but how can they be memorable if I won't be in them?"

Who couldn’t love Isaac?

Of course these characters that we love end up going back to Mylena in order to deal with Agramon. That is where there is a great battle. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed with this series. It moves like crazy. The story is fast pace and easy to get lost in. This was an amazing conclusion to this trilogy.
This story was very average. The writing is decent, probably okay for a YA novel, but any adult reading this would find it to be pretty simplistic fare. The world-building is *probably* okay…except for those of us just entering the story world for the first time with this book (like me). First off, the author never gives us any idea about what her characters and creatures look like. Ogres, gnomes, goblins, faeries, sprites nothing—besides pointed ears (on all or some??) and a vague *sense* that the people of Mylena are different from regular humans. I assume they are human-like in appearance, since Greta can blend in with them, but I must make this assumption, which a reader should never have to do if the storytelling is good. Also, events that have occurred in the past are mentioned, but in a way that the reader feels like he/she has come into the middle of the conversation or being kept out of a secret.

Where the author really fails in her writing for me is in establishing voice. For example, early in the story, Greta thinks this <<She knew how a room felt when the possibility of violence existed, and that wasn’t quite the tone here now, but there was something about this guy that evoked caution and restraint.>> What seventeen-year-old on earth thinks this way? Sentences like this feel more like they are meant to show the reader what a great writer the author is (and how she can employ fancy words like “evoked”) rather than effectively bring us into Greta’s mind. Something is seriously lost to the story because of that.

As far as the plot goes, the first half of this book is incredibly boring, with no action and no sense of danger—only some inner-circle bickering among the main players….and with Greta lying to her parents in a way that doesn’t makes sense (apparently she’s lying to them about her disappearance to save them from hurt, but she also knows her lie is hurting them worse, so, huh?). We spend the entire first half watching Greta show her friends, Siona and Isaac, around the human world, and watching the human boys go back to their families. If I was supposed to feel an emotional impact over watching these reunions, I didn’t. Again this is probably a world-building issue, because I didn’t know these boys from before, and the author doesn’t help me feel connected to them here. I was so relieved to get to the action part at the end, but then here again, I wasn’t stirred emotionally either. The action scenes are truncated and not well-delivered.

It sort of felt like this book was supposed to be a romance, but it really wasn’t. There is very little sexual tension between the two love interest characters, Isaac and Greta, just some lovelorn, moon-eyed stuff. These are a couple of horny teens, yet when they kiss, they easily stop. No big deal. I understand this might be because they have probably met two books ago, but in cases like that, the action of the story should have everything to do with affecting the main relationship in some way. And it doesn’t. Also, even though the book isn’t written in the I-narrative, we are only ever in Greta’s POV. We never get to hear what Isaac has to think, and so this also hinders the romantic elements of the story.

I really don’t know what to think about the message this book sends to youth about choosing to go off with a guy over staying with loving parents (not bad parents, adoring ones).

If you’re looking for a young adult adventure story (well, sort of) with a relationship thrown in, this might fit the bill for you. If you want a true romance, this isn’t your book. I rounded up to three stars to give this author the benefit of the doubt--maybe a lot of the problems of this book come from it not being a standalone novel, and so that might have strongly affected my perspective. But also, the score might be overly generous as well. I'll let other readers decide.
I really enjoyed this series!
Love love this whole series, never got boring. Loved all the characters. Adding to my new favorite fathers and gonna look up more book. Great ending to great series.
I loved the 1st book, the second was ok. But this one...just a boring. Felt like filler. Would have worked better to just wrap things up in book 2'
Fabulous! The ONLY thing wrong with this book is that it ended and I want more! Lol I love this series so much! I'm so sad to see it end, but it was wonderful from start to finish! Now I want to re-read the whole series! If you love YA fantasy, I highly recommend this one! Greta is an amazing MC (And for all you Labyrinth /Jareth the Goblin King fans out there, you will ❤️ Isaac!;)
