In the final chapter of the Ember Peak series, Tru and Jones face an unexpected challenge on their road to happy ever after.
Tru and Jones never expected riding off into the sunset to be easy. Their relationship’s script has never been silver-screen smooth or shiny. But dealing with life’s boulders, washouts, and irksome little details is no problem now…because they’re facing each bump in the road together.
But when Tru’s sister announces she wants—and desperately needs—him and Jones to adopt her baby, the new couple’s notions of family, home, their upcoming marriage, and even living at Ember Peak are flung into chaos.
They’ve defined themselves as lovers, partners, and future husbands—but are they ready, and do they even want to be, fathers? If they are to form a forever family, Tru and Jones will have to help each other navigate a new path they never expected to travel.

***4.5 Stars***This last book in Jones and Tru's story solidified them as permanent members on my "favorite couples" shelf. I absolutely adore them!!
He knew the rhythm. We'd created the rhythm together. It was ours, a dance we'd learned a long time ago..."
Jones and Tru are put in a tough predicament in this book. Sandra has decided to put her newborn baby up for adoption and she can't think of any better pair to raise him than her brother and best friend.
I have to be honest here...I've never been a Sandra fan, and this book moved me into the "I hate you" category. What she did was pretty much emotional blackmail. She dumped the child in their lap, jetted off to get treatment for her issues (which I'm glad she finally recognized that she needs) and left them to deal with what to do. She gave them two choices....raise the baby or my attorney will be by to pick him up so he can be put up for adoption. Seriously?!?! Yeah Sandra...I hate you.
Of course for Tru and Jones, there was no other option but for them to raise him. Both men were in love with the little boy before Sandra's bombshell, but now their feelings have shifted from cool uncles...to fatherhood. Jones is scared but ready to face fatherhood, but Tru...not so much.
The book focuses on the ranch coming together to form an even tighter and closer family. It takes you on a journey of the frustrations, anxiety and sleeplessness that comes with parenthood. But most importantly, the littlest Ember Peak family member forces Tru to look within himself and face his history and his own feelings about his father, his mother and what it means to be a family.
Throughout all of the ups and downs, never for one second do you doubt Tru and Jones. Their love is still growing and shifting, but it's there and it's their security...the protective layer from any of life's obstacles. And the one thing they could always count on.
Jones was there to catch me, collapse with me, hold me as my heart slowed and my body reminded me I was only a man, with all the pain in the ass physical limitations that went along with it.
"I love you," I whispered to the man beside me, because love took away a few of those limits.
These two men had me swooning even during times of chaos.
"You never cut off my circulation. You leave spaces so I can breathe. And you understand that sometimes I just need you all around me."
Watching Tru struggle was difficult, but the payoff was so rewarding. Jones and the entire Ember Peak gang (loved every single one of them...especially Gunnar - - that big softy of a bear) knew that Tru would come into his own....he just needed the right combination of patience and pushing. And when he got there....sigh....
"But I know you'll be patient with me, at least for a few seconds. Because your daddy is a Hudson and he's been putting his stamp on you. Lucky for all of us."
I may not have been happy with how this new family was formed, or Sandra's character at all, but no matter what...Tru and Jones were the star of this show. And they blinded me with love.
"I was thinking that maybe the most awesome part about tonight is knowing we get to wake up tomorrow together...Kinda like we do every day, right?"
"Yep...Exactly like that."
I'm sad to see this series come to an end, but I know I'll be revisiting Tru and Jones in many rereads to come. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a future book for my favorite softy bear Gunnar....

Tru Flame Ember Peak Book 3 edition by Edie Danford Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Tru and Jones + Sam forever!
Okay, so the beginning of this book made me mad. Sandra has issues, we've always known that, but to literally abandon your baby with your brother and best friend without much of an explanation at first... I was mad... But I couldn't say I was surprised. Her actions in the last book showed she needed help.
What I loved about this was it was about a same-sex couple who had to deal with the surprise of a baby. It was an original spin on 'oh, shit, we're pregnant'.
Yeah, Tru didn't want to be a parent, and Sandra should've known that, but that didn't stop Tru from loving Sam. He was standoffish for a while but the scenes where they started bonding melted my heart.
Tru and Jones are surrounded by amazing people (minus she who shall not be named again) and they have a great family network. And the steam level between these two when they are alone is off the charts.
Having said that, I'm in dire need to know more about gunner. I love how he protects jones and isn't afraid to stand up to his boss. Even if I get an inkling he has stronger feelings for jones than he lets on, he just wants him to be happy. *sigh* he is leading man material.
**i received an arc of Tru Flame**
This is a great series with flawless writing. Whatever Edie Danford writes next, I'm absolutely reading.
Honestly, this book is better than about 97% of all the rest of the MM category, even if the third installment isn't quite as gripping as the first two.
I read it in KU, where it's definitely one of the better offerings.
This concludes our tale of how Jones seduced Tru and how Tru kept fighting it until he realized what an idiot he was. This one has all the characters of the previous two novels in the series, with one exception Baby Sam, and even though he is not fleshed out as a full personality, it is his presence which makes the narrative tick, and keeps Jones a solid person and eventually turns Tru into a man Jones deserves.
Nothing much happens here that you wouldn't expect--the love scenes are wonderful, the impulsive moves by Jones, Tru and his sister Sandra are just as contradictory and frustrating as ever. Sandra is still without redeeming value as far as I am concerned, and in many, many ways, Tru is not worthy of Jones. But that is a quibble on my part because I am still not in the least bit amused that each cover of the series features Tru and only him. Hey, editor The star of the show is Jones, and you cheated him.
