LANDON edition by Scarlett Edwards Romance eBooks
Let me start off by saying that I went into this book totally blind, knowing nothing about it other than it was a student/professor romance and the fact that it was a Scarlett Edwards (aka E.A. Knight) book, which meant it was a no-brainer that it was guaranteed to be phenomenal. I have to admit that I normally do not like reading books dealing with such a realistic subject matter like cancer, as this book does. I read books for the fantasy of them, to escape painful realities such as this. I like my books to all end in an HEA or at least a HFN. And this book does not…. not really. It does have a finality though that makes you come to terms with it, in a somewhat positive way. This book was so raw, it gutted me and ripped my heart out of my chest. But I have to say it was beautiful too, in a masochistic sort of way. I have never felt such an array of emotions while reading a book in all my life. It was like being on a roller coaster that would never stop, much less slow down. Still, knowing what I know now, I would still chose to read this book. It's just THAT good, but yes in a painful way. It was definitely not what I was expecting. I feel like I can't give any more details than this without ruining the whole book for you. The romance and eroticism is definitely wayyy up there and what turns into unconditional love jerks at your heartstrings. It has ALL the feels. All I can say to you is that you HAVE to read this book! You won't be sorry. Heartsick, but not sorry.Tags : LANDON - Kindle edition by Scarlett Edwards. LANDON edition by Scarlett Edwards Romance eBooks Reviews
I just finished reading this last night. I started reading the day before and could not put it down. By the time I was finished, I was so emotional that I could not find the words to describe how magnificent this book this book truly is. I still don't know if I can find them. I woke up this morning and this story is still swimming around inside me.
This is E.A Knight's (aka Scarlet Edwards') debut book. I have been a huge fan since reading Scarlet's Uncovering You series, which is my favorite by far. Her characters are written so well. Her plots are so in depth and full of highly emotional twists and turns so much so that I NEVER saw the ending coming. I felt that I was living every moment with Celeste and James.
Celeste is a first year grad student suffering serious life and death health issues alone. She prefers it that way because she doesn't want anyone to suffer any heartache if/when she does die. She thinks she doing any potential friends and lovers a favor by not letting anyone get involved with her.
She reconnected with her best friend from high school, Summer. They agreed to going to grad school together and share an apartment so they can get back that close relationship from high school but that's hard to do when they both are keeping the most serious pieces of their lives hidden.
Then there's James. A one night stand that turns into more. Their relationship could be one of the greatest love stories of all time. But once again, secrets and lies keep that at bay.
I think what Celeste doesn't realize is that she should be giving these special people in her life the chance to help her live her life to the fullest and give the these two people, whom she loves so much, the greatest memories of her to keep with them when she's gone.
I cried so hard at the end of this book and I'm starting to tear up now as I wrote this last part.
I hope I've conveyed enough to help you decide that this is truly a book worth its weight in gold. It's one of the best I've read in years and I read ALOT.
I originally received this as an ARC then decided to buy it to support an author that I love.
I really hope that anyone reading this review gets a copy, enjoys it as much as I did, and spreads the word. There really aren't enough words to describe the intensity of this story how amazing it will feel to experience it.
" I'm Celeste. I'm not exactly innocent, but I'm not entirely a slut, either."
...And here is how the story starts!
Even by the synopsis above you can understand how the story is going to be. Right? Right. But we are talking about Scarlett Edwards style of writing so, many things could change in the middle of the story, she would mess with our minds and feelings, she would tied us on the fuss of crazy incidents and never let us out. Crazy? Yes! That's why I LOVE her as a writer.
Celeste is a graduate Literature student, on her first semester, at the University of Chicago. She is living in an appartment with an old bestie of hers from high school and she only wants to settle herself and be the best friend, she used to be in the past, for her friend Summer. I like Celeste! Even if she is cynical in the way she see's life and close about her feelings, she is tender and sweet for the ones she cares.
Summer, on the other hand, gives us the view of a party-girl who lives life in full, acknowledging nothing more than what is in her sight of view. She has few enlightening's about her friendship with Celeste but that's it. Not much more to say about it.
"I've been watching you all night."
Here is Landon! He's handsome, he's magnificent, he's...stunning! He can do all things a woman needs to feel full, to feel ecstatic, to feel wanted, to fell...lust! Yes, he does all that and so much more you never imagine. Landon came full forse in Celeste life as a mysterious and alluring stranger, few nights before semester begins. That night was a sinful night for both of them. That night was the beginning of their turbulent relationship. That night was the end of what they thought they were living for so long. That night was a gift from fate...It was their chance for a real, true love!
Should I continue? Should I say more? It's too soon for teasers. Right?
I don't want to either. I can only share my thoughts and feelings, and jeez there are so many. I was stunned, ecstatic by the capturing of their love scenes. They were so sinful but yet so tempting. Their passion of each other was undeniable, so right but yet...
I'm closer with Celeste's feelings. I can understand her, her fears, her stuffiness. She's headstrong about her life being and she knows where she stand's. It's hard to see her strungle with her thoughts, her rules, her feelings and her ifs. I cried in so many scenes supporting her, but I smile and laugh when she or Landon teased each other but still my heart's dropped, my mind's been liquid and I finally know the reason of the title.
I'm so glad I had the pleasure to have an ARC copy from E.A. Knight (Scarlett) in exchange for a honest review. I'm so happy I had the chance to read this magnificent story! It is a page turning story, as every other book Scarlett wrote, with stunning plus sinful love scenes, with a story-tail which will leave you thinking about it after you finish it and of course, it has Scarlett's signature, so you won't be disappointed.
